Suumhow is an experimental electronic duo from Brussels who compose glitched up, dirty yet melodious "IDM" that you really can't dance to. From bruising syncopated beat constructions to lush melancholic sceneries, the music is often created in conjunction with audio-reactive visuals utilizing circuit bent analog video synths. In addition to modular gear and a weakness for anything digitally corruptible, they have been known to utilize these video synths to create viscerally malfunctioning audio-visual live performances.

“The different tracks on the record manage to feel both minimalistic and grandiose, harsh and mellow. Authentically good stuff!” - Godefroy Dronsart

Reviews
"As the strides of 90’s IDM and ambient techno have been digested by contemporary producers, the lessons taken from that period of experimentation and glitchiness seem to be mostly that of a very glossy, clinical production–the logical result of an abstract aesthetic, often treating beats in an aerial way. While Suumhow’s Secuund is definitely rooted in that period, they also bring back a very refreshing noisy approach to this sound, as their crunchy percussion roar through most of this second offering by the Brussels, Belgium duo."

"Secuund can be challenging and cold one moment, warm and accessible the next. Rest assured, you’re never far away from a stomping sequence. In fact the word ‘crunch’ hardly does justice. This is the sound of God stomping on fresh snow and while Suumhow somehow remain surefooted it is we who are staggered."

"As debuts go “Crash_Reports” is one best enjoyed on a set of headphones to capture all the subtleties, nuances and textures. It harkens back to a time when IDM was interesting, exciting and innovative, and follows this progression. Tracks like “Brus L” “Aywalle” that successfully balance the elements are the highlights for me. There is a care taken to construct a cavernous, multifaceted sound that reveals more as you delve deeper into the album. If your musical taste various from the sweet melodies to a slice of dirty, gritty music, then “Crash_Reports” will not disappoint."
